Good morning Year 3! Here are a couple of photos from the walks Miss Chorley and I have been on this week! I hope you all have a lovely day!
Please complete 10 minutes of TT Rockstars.
Today you are looking at estimating. Estimating basically means an educated guess or an answer that is close to the real one. Your rounding skills will come in handy here.
For example, if I wanted to do 59 + 72. I could round those numbers to the nearest 10's which would be 60 and 70, and add those to numbers instead. Your answer would then be an estimate.
On most numbers you can round to the nearest 10, or you could round to the nearest 100 if your numbers are closer to that, for example 195 + 302 would be 200 + 300.

Questions 6, 7 and 8 are your challenges today.
Willow Group Phonics
Either print the word search below, or have it on your screen and see if you can find all of the "ation" words. Or, you could even make up your own wordsearch using "ation" words!
Oak Group Phonics
Ask your parents/carers to give you a spelling test on the words you have been practising this week.
Then for the ones you haven’t quite got right practice 3 times each. Well Done keep up your hard work!
Whole Class Writing Task
Please complete the reading comprehension on page 7 of the workbook. This task refers to the letter you read at the beginning of the week. Most of the answers will be within the letter, so it may be useful to have it in sight whilst you are completing the task.
Every week we will complete some science. We are going to focus on the topic "animals including humans". I have attached a simple power point below. Have a look through. Once you have, put the correct labels onto the Eatwell plate and then draw the labels on the next worksheet to match what nutrients do for us.
The links for worksheets are below if you would like to print but I have also just put images of what they look like here too. This doesn't have to be printed it can be completed on paper. If you are printing the sheets, on the "What do nutrients do for us", please only complete the 1st sheet.
