Thursday 30th April

Good Morning Year 3! Here are some things I baked yesterday. I’ll pop the videos on for them later! Have a lovely day!

1. The Daily Five - Maths

https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-3/

Please go onto Summer Term Week 1, Lesson 4 Order fractions. Download the worksheet and start working through the worksheet using the White Rose video. Have a go at questions 1, 2, 3 and 4. If you have found this really challenging, you may stop here. However, if you would like to challenge yourself, see how much further you can get. Again, please don't panic if you find it hard, it's okay! :)

Some tips:

- Numerator = top number

- Denominator = bottom number

- When the bottom number is the same in all of the fractions, just look at the top number to order!

- If the fractions all have 1 as the top number, you need to look at the bottom. The BIGGER the number on the bottom, the SMALLER the fraction. You can test this by folding pieces of paper into fractions.

-When both the top numbers and bottom numbers are different, cutting out strips of paper and folding them into equal parts will help you work this out, this is how I did it on the video on Tuesday. I will post a picture below to show you what I mean. You can then compare the strips to see which fractions are bigger. I will also attach a normal fraction wall, as you can also look at that to help you.

2. The Daily Five - Literacy

We are still continuing with our Newspaper Reports! Today I would like you to draw your picture and write a short sentence underneath saying what it is, and then your final paragraph.

Your Newspaper Report will then be finished!

Oak Group Phonics:

Ask your parents/carers to give you a spelling test on the words you have been practising this week.

Then for the ones you haven’t quite got right practice 3 times each.  Well Done! You have worked hard.

3. The Daily Five - Outside Time

Complete an exercise video of your choice.

More rain today, so pop outside and see how much your bottle has collected. How much more than yesterday had it collected? If it stops raining, pop outside, how many bugs or creatures can you spot that have come out for the rain?

4. The Daily Five - Project

You are going to do a little science experiment! Follow the instructions below.

You will need:
