Summer Reading Challenge

Dear Parents

Great News! - The Summer Reading Challenge is happening!

Here is the link to the website:

In the Home Zone you can find information about how your child can take part in the Summer Reading Challenge and how to use the website.

The Summer Reading Challenge website is free to access and a place for children to rate and review the books they are reading as they progress towards their reading goal.

The website features video content, games, quizzes and digital and downloadable activities to incentivise and encourage children to take part in the Challenge at home.

How to access books?

There is a phased re-opening of libraries which has already commenced:

Phase 1 – opening of larger libraries:  Bridgwater and Taunton have re-opened within COVID 19 guidelines.

Phase 2 – opening of smaller Somerset County libraries:  should be opening during the next few weeks.

Phase 3 – opening of volunteer run libraries:  will be opening at a later stage.

If your local library has not re-opened, you will be able to visit your local library website to access children’s reading materials and resources including eBooks, audiobooks and comics completely free of charge.

We would love to celebrate what your child has read over the summer when we return to school in September.

Yours sincerely
