Reflection by the headteacher - 02 January 2015

As another year begins, it is a good opportunity to reflect as well as look forward.
Last term was, of course, a particularly busy time for pupils, parents and staff. The Christmas festivities in school included a wonderful performance by our all of our pupils, in our Christmas play ‘The Magical Christmas Jigsaw’. As a reward for their efforts, the whole school enjoyed visiting the Playhouse Theatre in Weston-super-mare to see Peter Pan; which was a fun day out for everyone. The PTA worked hard to ensure the Christmas Fayre was another huge success and everyone enjoyed a great evening at the school!
The term concluded with a traditional nativity carol service at the church, led by our Year Four pupils. We were delighted to welcome parents and other members of the local community to this very special occasion. Our pupils spoke and performed with confidence for an excellent presentation of the Nativity Story.
In 2015 we look forward to further festivity at Weare School, as we celebrate its 120th birthday! This will be a great opportunity for us all to look back at the history of our wonderful school and we look forward to linking up with our community to mark this important event.
Weare Academy First School wishes everybody a very happy new year!
