Friday 27th March

Good morning from Miss Packer! Here are today's Daily Five:

1. The Daily Five - Maths

Play this online addition game.

Foxes Group - play this online game to continue practise addition by 'counting on'.

Rabbits Group - play this online game to continue practise addition by 'counting all'.

You may have to help your child with mouse control if you're using a computer.

2. The Daily Five - Literacy

Foxes Group - in your writing book, write the next section of the Jack and the Beanstalk story, following on from the beginning section.

Rabbits Group - in your writing book, draw a picture of the giant's castle including lots of detail such as the weather and what is around the castle. Support your child with labelling the picture, using their phonic knowledge.

3. The Daily Five - Outside Time

Collect leaves, sticks and flowers. Count them into groups of five - you could use your child's teddies and have a 'picnic' giving each teddy five leaves.

4. The Daily Five - Project

We are going to learn about time next week. Today, make a clock with your child either using a piece of card or a paper plate. Your child can write the numbers on the clock but they will need support spacing them out around the edge of the circle. Make a pair of clock hands (one shorter) and attach with blue tac or a split pin.

5. The Daily Five - Reading

Share a book with your child and focus on the question, "what do you think might happen next?" Some children will feel uncomfortable guessing, trying to turn the page to look or replying "don't know". Encourage them to guess lots of different ideas.
