Good morning from Miss Chapman! Here are today's Daily Five:
1. The Daily Five - Maths
Please complete lesson 3 of weight and measure. On this website you will find a video tutorial, a worksheet and the answers. Let the children watch the video, then they can either complete the worksheet independently if you are able to print it off, or in discussion with an adult talking through the answers when viewing on the screen.
2. The Daily Five - Literacy
Look, cover, write, check game.
Follow the link, select year 1, tricky words and then click on days of the week. The game will show the children the word. The children then need to input the spelling of the words by clicking on the letters on keypad. When finished, press the green eyes and it will check the spellings.
3. The Daily Five - Outside Time
Pick a plant in the garden, e.g. a daisy. Sketch it, colour it then label the parts of a plant. E.g. stem, flower, petal, roots.
4. The Daily Five - Project
In science this half term we have been studying two science units, seasonal changes and plants (in forest school). Over the course of this week I would like the children to think about how trees change over the seasons and create some art work each day to show a tree in the summer, autumn, winter and spring. You can find examples of what I expect below under 'resources'.
5. The Daily Five - Phonics
Consolidate all sounds learnt this week:
Parents to test children on these words in exercise books:
tie, pie, play, day, cloud, sound, bead, leaf.
See which words are right or wrong. If any words are spelt wrong re-teach that sound. If all right, play buried treasure on phonics play - all sounds.
