1. The Daily Five - Maths
Our final day of understanding capacity. In Year 1, they will continue this topic looking at standard measures.
During milk time, we always took the opportunity to extend the children's language around capacity, identifying whose water bottle was 'full', 'empty' and 'half-full'. Some of the children began to understand 'quarter-full' and 'three quarters-full'.
Again, this could be a bath-time activity...use cups to make mummy or daddy a drink using the different vocabulary detailed above.
2. The Daily Five - Literacy
Read the Ebook 'Ronald the Rhino' in the resources section below (Foxes Group could give it a go to read it with you).
Ronald's friends help him realise that he is special and unique. What makes you special? Are you kind, funny, helpful or good at doing something? Draw a picture of what makes you special and unique.
Foxes Group - add a sentence to help Miss Packer know all about what makes you special and unique. I have lots of ideas!
3. The Daily Five - Outside Time
There are many exercise videos for the children to try! Have a look at Andy's Wild Workout in Africa, which is very suitable for this age group.
4. The Daily Five - Project
Most children are fascinated and love drawing flags. Today, choose one of Africa's many flags to draw or paint (there's a document in today's resource section with pictures). Add a wooden spoon or a straw to make it fly!
Let's play a game on Class Dojo! Take a photograph of your child with their flag and we can find out which country your flag belongs to.
5. The Daily Five - Reading / phonics
Play this online rhyming game - a challenge for Rabbits Group.
