1. The Daily Five - Maths
Now we are going to move between a 'concrete' pattern and an 'abstract' pattern; between the real objects and a drawing. Once again, collect a pile of three very different things from the garden e.g. stick, leaf, flower. Arrange them in a pattern.
Now, in your green writing books, record this pattern and continue it across the page. It could be a literal drawing of a stick, leaf and flower or it could be more abstract e.g. a brown dot,a green dot and a pink dot.
We are going to carry on with pattern work next week and get even more challenging!
2. The Daily Five - Literacy
Watch the story, Mama Panya's Pancakes (click here) - a story from Kenya.
3. The Daily Five - Outside Time
Miss Packer does Pilates but absolutely cannot balance on one leg and needs to practise the skill of persistence! We are going to balance on one leg for one minute but we might need to start easy...try balancing for 20 seconds holding onto a wall.
4. The Daily Five - Project
Have a really close look at this photo of an African sunset - what colours can we see and in what order? Using paint or chalks, create your own African sunset pictures.
Save these pictures! I would love to see them and perhaps create a display to remember back at school.
5. The Daily Five - Reading
Play 'pass the sentence' (Foxes Group) or 'pass the word' (Rabbits Group) - play some favourite music and when the music stops, read the sentence or word (documents in the resources section). These sentences all practise the digraph 'er.
