Good morning from Miss Eggby! Here are today's Daily Five:
1. The Daily Five - Maths
Find 2 objects from around your house or outside, measure them using cm or mm, then add the lengths together to see what total you get. For example, I might have a teddy that is 6cm and a pencil that is 7cm and 3mm. If I add these together I would get 13cm and 3mm. If you want to make it easier, measure your objects to the nearest cm and don't worry about any mm. If you want a challenge, adding the mm on will make it more difficult. Once you have done 2 objects, find another 2. Please complete 5. The objects and the additions can be written down in your exercise books.
2. The Daily Five - Literacy
Pick your favourite character from Theseus and the Minotaur (remember, the story is in your work book if you need to remind yourselves of it). Write a letter to your chosen character. What would you like to ask them, is there anything you want to find out about the other characters from them? What could you ask them to get some extra information about them and the whole story? You are free to ask them whatever you want! Make sure you include who you are writing it to and who it is from.
3. The Daily Five - Outside Time
Find a stick from outside, get the end of it wet and pretend it is your pencil. On the path, with your "pencil stick", write 5 of your highlighted common exception words.
4. The Daily Five - Project
Look at the Labyrinth you drew yesterday, think about if you were to make your Labyrinth, what would you make it out of and how would you make it? Label this onto your drawing or underneath. Write how you would make it and what materials you would use.
5. The Daily Five - Reading
Go onto Oxford Reading Owl and either finish yesterdays book or start a new one. Write down what you read onto your reading log.
