1. The Daily Five - Maths
Using the number cards that you made earlier this week, ask your child to order them backwards again i.e. starting at the highest number. We are going to play missing numbers. Close their eyes and take away three cards. Which ones are missing and where do they go? Repeat and they can also take turns hiding three cards for you.
2. The Daily Five - Literacy
Using books or the internet or this link, find out more facts about your child's favourite animal. Remind your child about the features of a list ("it goes down the page not across the page). On plain page for the information book, write a list of three facts about their favourite animal, differentiated as below.
Foxes Group - write three fact or information sentences.
Rabbits Group - with adult support, write three simple words to reflect that fact e.g. for a leopard they would write, 'fast', 'spots' and '4 legs'.
3. The Daily Five - Outside Time
Using flora and fauna, make a picture of a lion's head. Look at this one!
4. The Daily Five - Project
Have a look at the footprints of the animals, using the document in today's resources section. Print or paint your own animal footprints. Will they have large strides or small strides across the page?
5. The Daily Five - Reading
Explore one of your non-fiction books at home (it could be a recipe book, information book, atlas etc). Ask your child to find these features:
1. Title
2. Page number
3. Contents page
4. Index page
5. Sub-title (this is new learning)
6. Label
