1. The Daily Five - Maths
We are going on a safari picnic! In the resources section below, choose the items from the safari picnic menu to pack in our safari picnic. You will need some real coins, ideally 1p, 2p, 5p and 10p.
Foxes Group - choose three items and find the correct coins for each item (note- don't try to add all three items, it will be too tricky. They need to find the correct coins for each separate item).
Rabbits Group - choose three items and count the correct pennies.
2. The Daily Five - Literacy
Have a look at today's PowerPoint slide in the resources section below and then support your child to colour in the continent map (also in the resources section below). Each continent needs to be a different colour and the oceans / seas can be blue. Alternatively, if you do not have a printer, try to paint or draw the world map.
3. The Daily Five - Outside Time
Inspire the children with this seascape video - look out for the shark! Using chalk on the floor, create a seascape picture. If you don't have chalk, you could create an underwater world in a washing-up bowl.
4. The Daily Five - Project
Africa is surrounded by three oceans: Atlantic, Indian and Southern. Today we are going to make some Indian Ocean fish. Click this link for the instructions.
5. The Daily Five - Reading
To go on safari, we will need to visit a travel agent to book our holiday! With internet holiday companies, many children won't know what a travel agent is. Share the Ebook in the resources section with your child to find out more.
