Good Morning Year 3! I hope you are all ok! I am off to work with my Year 1 bubble at Wedmore today! I hope the rain stays away!
Yesterday I enjoyed a delicious mint choc chip ice cream at home, my favourite flavour!! I hope you all have a lovely day!
Please complete 10 minutes of TT Rockstars.
Today you are subtracting lengths. Again, it is sometimes easier if you convert all the numbers into the same measurement, and then use your column subtraction.
100cm = 1m
10mm = 1cm
When you hear the words 'find the difference between', you always subtract the 2 numbers to find the answer.

Whole Class Writing Task
We are continuing with our jungle logs today explorers! Today, I would like you to complete the next 2 paragraphs from your plans - events 1 and 2.
Hopefully on your plans you noted down in each something that happened when you were in the jungle. You are just now going to write these in a little bit more detail!
For example, my first event could have been that and got lost amongst all the trees! I would write:
How I felt..
What I could see/hear/smell..
What I did..
You could use that structure for each event in your log if you like. Remember to use some powerful adjectives and verbs, fronted adverbials and your conjunctions 'and', 'but' and 'because' just like we have practised!
Yesterday you completed some art about an animal on your jungle journey, today I would like you to complete some art on the trees in your jungle. Take a look at the pictures below:
Jungles are actually full of colour, not just green and brown, and that's what these pictures are showing! So, I would like you to imagine again you are on your jungle journey, you have just entered the jungle, what patterns and colours would you like to see on the trees? Make them as creative as you want.
You can use whatever you want to make this. In the images, they have used watercolour to paint the sky in the background first. They would have had lots of water on their brush so the colours were nice and pale. They then would have let this try and then drawn the trees over the background either using pen, pencil or you could use paints again or even collage it!
You don't have to do it like this at all! Make it your own :)
