Please complete the first maths lesson from this week, 'describe position'. On the website you will find a video tutorial and under today's resources you will find the worksheet.
Let the children watch the video, then they can either complete the worksheet independently if you are able to print it off, or in discussion with an adult talking through the answers when viewing on the screen.
How we access the video this week is slightly different as we have already covered the fraction topic. Please follow the same link as usual and then on that days lessons you should find a link saying 'already covered this content?'. Click on this link and this should open a pdf with 4 vimeo links. Click on the one that is titled the same as today's worksheet and this should load the relating video.
Spelling - at this point I would hope the children were confident at spelling at least 80% of their year one common exception words. Could you please test the children using their record that was sent home. When they have completed it could you please mark and let me know what they have achieved. If you do not have a copy, please find underneath 'today's resources'.
3. Topic (Week long Project)
This week we are looking at carnivores, herbivores and omnivores. Over the week I would like the children to create a poster for an animal belonging to each group e.g. lion (carnivore), rabbit (herbivore) and monkey (Omnivore). In the poster I would like the children to include a big title with the animals name (lion), a big, beautiful picture, a sentence describing what kind of animal it is (A lion is a carnivore because it loves to eat meat) and finally a fact file containing other facts about that animal (a lion is a mammal, a lion runs fast, lions live in packs).
