Thursday 7th May

THUMBS UP THURSDAY!!

Give a thumbs up if you are ready to conquer the day!!

1. The Daily Five - Maths

https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-3/

We have finished fractions now and skipping a few lessons. I would like you to go onto Summer Term - Week 3 (w/c 4th May) - then go down to lesson 4 - Multiply and Divide by 3.

Tips:

-Remember to use grouping methods for multiplying to work out if you find counting in 3's hard. For example, 4 x 3, you would make 4 groups of 3 objects and then count how many there are altogether.

-Use sharing methods for dividing, for example, for 12 divided by 3, you would get 12 objects and share them equally into 3 groups, then count how many you have in 1 group to get your answer.

-On question 1 of the sheet, the leaves have 3 leaves each, so it will be 3 times by how many leaves there are altogether.

Complete as much as you can, remember the last few questions may be more challenging!

2. The Daily Five - Literacy

Begin to write your Newspaper Report using your plan. I would like you to write your title and introduction today.

Oak Group Phonics:

Using the worksheets that you have done this week, ask your parents/carers to give you a spelling test on the words you have been practising this week.

3. The Daily Five - Outside Time

There is supposed to be some sunshine today, so I would like you to get some small toys and a piece of paper. Put them on the piece of paper in the sunshine and see if you can draw around their shadows.

4. The Daily Five - Project

You may need this day to finish making your shelter and that's absolutely fine!

If you have finished your shelter, draw an outline of the side of your head (if you struggle get someone to help you). Then, fill it up by drawing all of the things that make you you! For example you could draw your favourite food, drink, sweets, animals, your family, your pets, favourite game... ANYTHING! Then you can colour it in with some beautiful colours!

5. The Daily Five - Reading

Read a book of your choice, note down what you read on your reading log.
