2. The Daily Five - Literacy
Do today's 'Project' first. Then take a look at the next few pages of the PowerPoint (date indicated in the top right corner). Going back to this week's challenge question, which of these animals live (are native to) in Madagascar? The answer is...
For the information book, write the title 'Madagascar' with adult support. Draw a picture of one of the 105 types of Lemurs. Write the sentence similar to, "Lions do not live in Madagascar." Foxes Group can continue writing as many similar sentences as they feel comfortable.
3. The Daily Five - Outside Time
Lemurs like to eat flowers, fruit, leaves and tree bark. Collect things that the Lemurs might like to eat!
4. The Daily Five - Project
Have a look at an atlas or globe - where is the country of Madagascar? It is Africa's largest island. What is an island? Make your own island, be as creative as you like! It could be in a washing up bowl of water or it could be a painting.
5. The Daily Five - Reading
The children can have a go reading the captions next to the characters from the film Madagascar in the PowerPoint. Seeing words like animal names helps spell the words when writing!
