1. The Daily Five - Maths

Please complete lesson 3 of Summer Term 1 week 5, measure lengths (2). On the website you will find a video tutorial and under today's resources you will find the worksheet. Let the children watch the video, then they can either complete the worksheet independently if you are able to print it off, or in discussion with an adult talking through the answers when viewing on the screen.

2. The Daily Five - Literacy

Use your time today to plan out your non chronological report. What will your subheadings be? (e.g. tudor houses, celtic round houses, victorian houses) What will you write in your introduction? Please use the planning sheet to help you complete this task. This can be found under 'today's resources'.

3. The Daily Five - Outside Time/Be Active

It is important that all children have at least 1 hour of exercise every day. Today I would like the children to do some relaxing yoga, telling stories through movement - this week The wizard of oz! Cosmic kids is a brilliant youtube resource! Do this as much as possible over the school closures, everyday if you can, there are plenty of different sessions available. The children really enjoy it and it can calm their busy minds! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j_3weVPH0-U

4. The Daily Five - Project

Houses in the past - UK History

Research facts about different houses in these era’s each day, this can include things in the house/rooms. Use these facts to contribute to your non-chronological report. Write these facts in your workbook. Powerpoints including facts and information can be found under 'today's resources'.

  • The Iron age (celtic round houses).
  • Tudor houses
  • Victorian (very similar to ours e.g. terrace houses made of brick – more of a challenge to compare)

5. The Daily Five - Phonics

Remembering the 'au' sound.

Look at these 'au' words - choose a word and write a sentence containing this word. Remember your capital letters and full stops. Do this 3 times and be sure to discuss the meaning of words they are unsure of.

  • haunted
  • paul
  • author
  • launch
  • autumn
  • august

Challenge: write a sentence containing 2 of the words!

Then play buried treasure with (au).
