Whilst Weare Academy is temporary closed, our children have shown us the true Weare spirit, demonstrating amazing resilience, understanding and adaptability to their new situation.
The Class Teachers have been setting the 'Daily Five' via the school website; five educational, practical and fun activities to do each day, hopefully alleviating boredom and enabling some learning to take place at home.
We have loved seeing the children's work and photographs via Class Dojo! We are here to help and it's an absolute pleasure supporting parents with learning at home.
The PTA have just completed the mammoth task of hand-delivering workbooks to all the children, so that they have another way of choosing the best way to learn for them.
Not forgetting our keyworker children who are temporarily based at Wedmore Academy. They have adapted brilliantly to their new environment, made new friends and have been fearless in this period of uncertainty. Super stars!
Most importantly, our Weare children have deftly navigated around the challenges: some of our Year 4 children have set-up a daily tea-time video conferencing chat, there have been Kilve residential camps in the lounge and of course, the toilet roll challenge! Click here to watch Year 1s version - we love the personalities that shine through and all the wonderful outdoor time you are having!
