This morning, we will write our weekend news. We always "talk the sentence" before writing it, using the framework, "At the weekend, I....". Next draw a picture with lots of detail and label. Then, with adult support, write a short sentence. The adult can support with the structure of the sentence, but ideally the child will write the sentence independently. The words can be spelt incorrectly, as they will make phonetically plausible attempts at each word.
