1. The Daily Five - Maths
Miss Packer is at the fruit market. Using the price list in the resources section below, use 10p coins to buy each item. Some children may need support recognising the numerals.
Foxes Group - try to count in 10s independently.
Rabbits Group - with an adult's support, count in 10s. This is something to practise whenever you have a spare moment!
2. The Daily Five - Literacy
We are going to look at healthy food and unhealthy food. We always tell the children that all foods are okay but not too much of one thing and treats are for 'sometimes'. Have a look at today's PowerPoint. Discuss together the healthy and unhealthy foods and activities, then sort.
In your green writing books, draw a plate with five healthy items for your picnic lunch and label.
3. The Daily Five - Outside Time
Write 10s numbers on pieces of paper from 0 to 100. Pin up or place on the floor. Adult to name a 10s number and child to throw a ball or bean bag onto that number.
Foxes Group - continue onto the challenge part of the game. Can they throw the ball onto each 10s number in order from 0 to 100? Challenge - what about backwards from 100?!
4. The Daily Five - Project
Going back to the African fruit photographs in the PowerPoint, choose a fruit to paint or draw. We have been learning a lot about creating shades - look very carefully at the fruit. Is it all one shade? Think about the parts that are light and dark.
5. The Daily Five - Reading / phonics
Play Quickwrite (the children know this game - you say a list of words, they write as quickly as they can).
Foxes Group - your words are: shark, fish, tree, rain, Africa, balloon, monsoon, snake (tell them it has a 'magic e'),
Rabbits Group - your words are: ship, hat, shell, fish, hot.
