Monday 8th June 2020 Statement from the WLT

Over the weekend there has been a lot of engagement with local MPs, the Minister for Education and the Office of the RSC regarding our reopening and entitled year groups.  We have been asked to clarify our position (and that of the RSC).  I have placed the text below on the Trust website https://wessexlearningtrust.co.uk/news/trust-statement-schools-reopening-and-coronavirus

The Wessex Learning Trust and the schools in the Trust are following Government guidelines regarding the reopening of schools.  As such, schools are currently open for children in nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 6.  Any communication from the Trust or schools regarding reopening for other year groups is based on Government guidance and any implication that this decision came from the Regional School Commissioner is retracted.  We hope to welcome children from other year groups back to our schools soon but only when Government guidelines permit this
