Online safety

Our pupils are increasingly using Information Communication Technology (ICT) in schools and in the home.  Online-safety (previously e-safety) is concerned with supporting our children and young people to develop safe on-line behaviours both in and out of school.  We need to educate our whole school community about the risks and benefits of new technologies so that we are confident and responsible users.

Turquoise Class E-Safety SMART rules!

Turquoise Class let everyone know the importance of SMART rules and what they are. Watch and learn how to safely surf the net!

  • Hector's World Safety Button The Hector's World Safety Button is designed to help children take an active role in their own online safety, and to encourage a child to go to a trusted adult when there is a problem.

  • A Search Engine for Primary Schools. Internet searches are filtered and appropriate content is displayed more often than a standard internet search.

  • Safer Internet Day (SID) 'Let's create a better internet together'

  • Childnet .com Childnet International, a non-profit organisation working with others to help make the internet a great and safe place for children.

  • < > Useful information created by CEOP, with resources for children, parents and teachers.< > Lots of useful parental guides and controls and fun downloadable activities.

We would encourage children to use SafeSearch whilst using the internet.
