Spreading kindness for Christmas

To complement the whole school focus on the Christian value of 'kindness' this term, Reception Class wrote their own list of kindness deeds for advent. Smiling, playing with lonely people, sharing favourite toys and saying sorry were just some of their wonderful ideas!

The children also wanted to, "help people who need our help", so the children completed a 30-minute sponsored silence to raise money for Cheddar Food Bank. Thank-you to all the parents and businesses who supported the event. We raised a massive £179.50! Cheddar Food Bank have asked for a list of food items to be delivered in January.

The children also wanted to, "give somebody a toy who doesn't have any". The children donated one of their own toys and made their own patterned wrapping paper. The Axbridge Healthcare team will be distributing the toys to local families in need.

We also made Christmas cards for refugees in Syria in conjunction with Taunton's RAFT.

Well done Reception Class!
